About Brava, Valentine

• Paperback: 352 pages
• Publisher: Harper Paperbacks (November 9, 2010)
Award-winning playwright, television writer, and documentary filmmaker Adriana Trigiani returns withBrava, Valentine, continuing the heartwarming and hilarious story of Valentine Roncalli, her family, her love life, and the Angelini Shoe Company. Following on the heels of the New York Times bestseller Very Valentine (hailed by People magazine as “Sex and the City meets Moonstruck”), Brava, Valentine is another tour-de-force from the beloved author of bestselling novels Lucia, Lucia, The Queen of the Big Time, and the Big Stone Gap series.
When Valentine’s grandmother begins a new life in Italy, she places Valentine and her nemesis, her brother Alfred, “the Prince,” as partners at the Angelini Shoe Company, makers of handcrafted wedding shoes since 1903. A once-in-a-lifetime business opportunity takes Valentine from the winding streets of Greenwich Village to the sun-kissed cobblestones of Buenos Aires, where she unearths a long-buried family secret and finds herself torn between a past love that nurtured her and a new one that promises to sustain her, in this “dazzling” (USA Today) follow-up to Very Valentine.

My Review:
I won't lie... When I started reading Brava Valentine I sincerely thought it was another chick lit book. I don't know if I was in a mood or what but when I started reading I got this Ughhh feeling. It was a lazy Sunday and I didn't have anything else to read so I made myself keep going and I am so glad I did. Brava, Valentine is a joy. One of the things I love in books is when I get to go to different places around the world. I got to go to a couple of really nice ones in this one and didn't even need a passport. Adriana is very descriptive and you can see right where you are. It was such a great book and I really enjoyed it. This is the second book of the series but I am happy to say it did read as a stand alone book. However, I have been reading the first one, Very Valentine the last couple of days and it is just as good. I can't wait for the third book.

Don't you love it when a book turns out SO MUCH BETTER than you though it would?! I'm so glad that was the case for you here. I haven't read any of Trigani's books yet but I'm thinking I'll really enjoy them since my family is crazy Italian as well. ;)

Thanks for being a part of the tour!
